Two Mid-Del Teachers Die In Murder-Suicide In Southeast OKC Home

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide and have released the identities of the two victims.

Katherine Lopez, 54, and Jose Manuel Lopez, 64, were found by police in a home at 5119 Eden Drive, near S.E. 59th Street and Sooner Road.

Police responded to a check welfare call at that address at 8:30 a.m. when the two victims had not arrived for work Thursday morning.  They found the bodies and summoned homicide investigators.

Mid-Del Schools officials have confirmed that Katherine Lopez was a teacher at Del City High School and that Jose Lopez was a teacher at Kerr Middle School.

Court records indicate Katherine Lopez had filed for divorce last week.
