Tulsa's Hard Rock Casino Expands

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is expanding again. They are adding more hotel and entertainment space.

The project requires lots of heavy lifting, so they brought in a big crane. It's not the biggest crane in the world... but it's plenty big.

Neil Hinch has been a crane operator for 33 years. He goes where it goes.

"It goes together good. It comes apart good. Its user friendly... I like it," Hinch said.

When its job is done here, they'll take it apart and load it onto the 34 trucks it came here on and move to the next job.

The tracks it sits on are 5 feet tall and more than 30 feet long. It weighs about one million pounds.

"We're going to add a ten story tower, including about 100 suites and another 55,000 square feet of entertainment space," said Jon Davidson of the Hard Rock Casino.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of next year. The crane will do most of its work during the first three months of the project.
