Oklahoma State guard Fred Gulley has been granted release from the Cowboy basketball team.
Gulley requested the release and head coach Travis Ford granted it and announced the news Tuesday afternoon.
"We appreciate what Fred has done for us over the past two-plus seasons," Ford said. "We wish him nothing but the best and hope that he does well in his future endeavors."
The redshirt sophomore competed in eight games for OSU this season and started five of those contests. He was averaging four points and 2.5 rebounds in about 18 minutes per game.
Against Missouri State he matched his career high with eight points and he tallied a season-high five rebounds.
The Fayetteville, Arkansas native was granted a red shirt last season after playing only seven games before he injured his shoulder and was forced to miss the rest of the year.
The Cowboys are traveling to face Alabama in Birmingham on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
