Police are detaining five juveniles in an investigation of a truck trespassing at U.S. Grant High School in south Oklahoma City.
Police say officers approaching the truck smelled marijuana. Upon looking in the vehicle, they found ammo and a shotgun.
The Oklahoma City Public Schools issued a statement in response to the incident:
At approximately 2:45pm US Grant HS administrators discovered five teens in a truck in the south parking lot of the campus. The school administrators smelled marijuana and with probable cause searched the vehicle, during the search administrators found drug residue, ammunition and a pistol grip pump shotgun. The school resource officer was notified and contacted the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Two students in the truck are current US Grant HS students but school administrators believe the two students were off campus all day, the other three teens involved are former US Grant HS students.
The US Grant High School students involved will be disciplined according to the district's Student Code of Conduct and we will work with the Oklahoma City Police Department on this investigation.
