The NBA announced their Conference Coaches of the Month Wednesday and Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks earned the award for the Western Conference, for games played in December and January.
Through the first 20 games of the season, Brooks had lead the Thunder to a league-best 16-4 record, tying the record for the third-best start in franchise history, including seven-consecutive wins over a 10-day span.
Oklahoma City is one of the best teams in the league in several statistical categories, ranking first in free throw percentage, third in scoring and third in field goal percentage. Other nominees for the award were Dallas' Rick Carlisle, Houston's Kevin McHale and the Clippers' Vinny Del Negro.
