Police in Sapulpa have arrested two people after a domestic dispute turned deadly late Sunday night.

Police Major Jeff Gilliland says officers responded to a 911 call just after 11:30 p.m. to a home in the 4500 block of West 55th Street.

When they arrived, they found 54-year-old Ricky McClean dead from a gunshot wound.

Gilliland says after interviewing other people in the home at the time, officers arrested 30-year-old Scott Edwards on a complaint of first degree murder and McClean's wife, 52-year-old Michelle McClean for accessory to murder.

Gilliland says the incident began when Edwards and his step-dad Ricky McClean got into an argument. During the argument, Edwards pulls out a gun and shoots McClean, killing him.

Gilliland says Scott Edwards and his mother attempted to cover up the incident by claiming it was self-defense. As part of the claim, Edwards shoots himself in the left arm.

Both Edwards and McClean were taken to the Creek County jail.
