Agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are examining evidence after a woman's body was found in a house just outside of Checotah.

Firefighters were called just after 3 a.m. Tuesday to a house about 5 miles west of Checotah on Highway 266. After dousing the fire at the brick home, they found a woman's body. They've identified her as 57-year-old Deborah Kathryn Kelsoe.

Once the McIntosh County Sheriff's Office identified the case as a homicide, it requested assistance from OSBI. The State Fire Marshal's Office is also assisting in the case, and trying to determine if the fire was intentionally set.

OSBI is also investigating the suspicious death of a McIntosh County man whose body was found in his pickup truck late Monday night. Investigators say the two cases are not related.
