Here's the latest on the winter storm headed for Oklahoma early next week.
Late Monday we could see a wintry mix transition into snow in northwest Oklahoma. However, best snow chances across the state will be Christmas Day. Expected snowfall amounts will likely change once the storm moves further onto the coast and the track becomes better defined.
As of now we are expecting 1-2 inches of snow for areas in gray, and 3-6 inches for areas in blue. Strong north winds could result in drifting snow and whiteout conditions at times.
Arctic air and fierce north winds will result in wind chill values in the teens Christmas morning, dropping to single digits and eventually below zero by Christmas night. Snowfall is expected to come to an end early Wednesday morning.
