Fatal Shooting Leads To Brief Lockdown At Elk City Schools

Three Elk City schools briefly went on lockdown Wednesday morning after someone was fatally shot nearby.

The lockdown lasted for about 10 minutes at the city's middle and junior high schools, and an adult education building. It was just a precaution, and the shooting was not connected to any of the schools.

News 9 has learned one person was killed in the shooting. Police have not released the victim's identity, or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
