Inmate Escapes From Minimum Security Prison In McAlester

An inmate from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester was reported missing Thursday morning.

An inmate from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester was reported missing Thursday morning.

Kenneth Hammick II, 27, of McAlester was last seen during a headcount at 6:30 a.m.

Hammick is a white male, 5-feet-11, 154 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections web site reports Hammick is serving a four-year sentence out of Cherokee County for possession of a controlled substance. He was set to be released in August 2014.

The DOC says Hammick is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Hammick or knows his location is asked to call the Department of Corrections escapee hotline at 866-363-1119.
