My 2 Cents: TSA Allowing Knives On Plane

It made no sense to me when the TSA decided to let people start carrying small knives on board with them again.

By now, 11 years after 9-11, people who fly at all know what the restrictions are for what you can and can't carry on board a plane with you, we may grumble about it, and some of it seems silly, but we're use to it.

That's why it made no sense to me when the TSA decided to let people start carrying small knives on board with them again.

I mean what's the point?

Are people needing them to whittle, or cut fruit?

TSA says by eliminating something it doesn't see as a great threat, TSA officers can focus on more dangerous items like explosives.

Please tell me TSA agents have been more focused on detecting explosives anyway, than on finding grandpa's pocket knife he uses to clean his nails.

Certainly we mustn't forget that the hijackers used small box cutters to disable the crews on the four airliners and destroy the Twin Towers, but a lot has changed since then.

The cockpits are now locked and secured, and you tell me if 3 or 4 guys pulled knives on a plane you're on and tried to take it over it wouldn't be flight 93 all over again, with passengers tearing them apart.

Even so, the point is why change what's working?

There's no reason to re-introduce any weapon into airline cabins.
