News 9 Anchor Lauren Nelson Is Having A Baby

News 9 is excited to announce that our own Lauren Nelson is going to be a mother!

Lauren and her husband, Randy, surprised their parents with the exciting news by giving them a cookie with a due date on it.

Randy is the student minister at Edmond's First Baptist Church. Lauren and Randy made a puzzle that said "Randy and Lauren are having a baby," to tell Randy's students and other adult leaders.

The couple hid the puzzle pieces in Easter eggs with candy and sent the students on an Easter egg hunt. The students who had puzzle pieces brought them forward and put the puzzle together, then one of the students announced the message!

"We are so excited to announce that my husband Randy and I are expecting our first baby! We are overwhelmed with gratefulness to God for giving us this blessing and we are so looking forward to becoming parents," said Lauren Nelson. "We're still trying to let that sink in!! Ha! Randy is a twin so some of our friends and family were sure we would have twins, but I promise there's only one baby! We're looking forward to sharing our journey to parenthood with our sweet friends and family! P.S. Now you know why David was giving me such a hard time about my snacking on the news desk!"
