A LeFlore County man is in jail, accused of robbing a Fort Smith, Arkansas bank on Friday, May 3, 2013.
On Monday, Fort Smith Police arrested Kelley Kincaid, 66, of Spiro, after investigators obtained information he may have robbed the First National Bank just before 6 p.m. Friday.
Police released bank surveillance photos showing a man wearing glasses, khaki pants, a black and red fleece jacket and a cap with a Key Energy logo. Police say the man carried a sack inside the bank and demanded money from a teller. No weapon was shown.
During a search of Mr. Kincaid's residence, investigators located a large amount of cash hidden inside a storage building. The cash was seized as evidence, and believed to be approximately half of the total amount taken during the robbery. Late this afternoon, the Fort Smith Police Department was notified that Mr. Kincaid has waived extradition, and the Sebastian County Sheriff's Office is coordinating his return to Arkansas.
Kincaid was arrested Monday, May 6th at his home in Spiro. Fort Smith Police searched the home and a pickup truck believed used in the robbery. Police say inside a storage shed next to his home officers found cash believed taken in the robbery.
Kincaid, who remains in the LeFlore County jail waived extradition Tuesday back to Arkansas.
