A high profile convicted killer takes the first steps toward an appeal. Becky Bryan maintains her innocence after a jury found her guilty of shooting and killing her husband.
Bryan will spend the rest of her life is prison for the murder of her husband, late Nichols Hills Fire Chief Keith Bryan, unless she can get the conviction overturned.

"I didn't think the evidence supported a conviction," said Gary James, who defended Becky Bryan in court and still takes the same stance on Monday. "She has always maintained her innocence that she did not do it, she did not pull the trigger, and she stays that way today."
James debated, even publicly contested, the evidence in the case and vowed that an appeal would be coming. He claims the state's case focused more on her affairs than hard evidence.
"In our opinion none of those things related to the crime," James said.
The jury heard phone calls between Becky Bryan and her ex- lover. The calls are something that the defense hopes will be looked at in the appeals process.
Beyond the phone calls, James believes the testimony from two witnesses who claimed to see a possible shooter could be grounds for an appeal.
"This is a case that has so many nuances to it, but I think the testimony from Randy Dunbar and JW Jones easily showed there was somebody else that fit the shooters description in that area leaving the scene," James said.
Although James represented her in the trial, Bryan will have a new attorney in the appeals process to give the case a fresh set of eyes.
