An Oklahoma family is celebrating the successful separation surgery of their conjoined twins.
Emmet and Owen Ezell were born on July 15 conjoined at the abdomen. The Guthrie family moved to Dallas a week before the birth for the extra medical attention and has been blogging about their journey ever since.
This weekend they posted amazing news.
"WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL SET OF SEPERATED BOYS," read the blog.
"I'm on cloud nine right now," says the twins father Dave Ezell.
Dave tells News 9 the success of the surgery has even shocked those who performed the operation.
"They are all just as dumfounded as we are," says Ezell.
The father says before the 9 and half surgery the parents were told about the last eight similar separation surgeries performed.
"Of the eight instances, only one time out of eight both children survived," says Ezell.
The family will stay in Dallas for at least a couple more months. The twins still need to undergo several more surgeries.
