A group working to get storm shelters in the state's public schools is inching closer to its big goal.
The organization Take Shelter Oklahoma has just 90 days to collect more than 160,000 valid signatures.
Last week, it filed a $500 million bond issue with the state.
Mikki Davis, who lost a child in Plaza Towers, collected signatures Tuesday night outside the Warren Theatre in Moore.
"The whole goal of this is for every school in Oklahoma to have a shelter. Doesn't matter where at. If it's a school, we want it to have a shelter," Davis said.
The bond will be paid by the annual franchise tax on businesses.
