QuikTrip is contributing $12.5 million to "A Gathering Place for Tulsa," the 66.5-acre development planned along the Arkansas River.
QuikTrip's contribution goes to a 3.7-acre section of the park that includes the Blair mansion site which will become known as "The Great Lawn." The large open space will be used for concerts, movies, picnics, sports and relaxing, according to a release from the George Kaiser Family Foundation.
The sponsorship includes naming rights to that area, Lakeview Lawn and the Lawkeview Passageway over the north land bridge.
"QuikTrip believes A Gathering Place for Tulsa is going to be a special place for our community, and we are honored to be a part of this visionary project," said Chet Cadieux, President and CEO of QuikTrip.

"QuikTrip has been very fortunate in our 55-year history, and we owe our success to our customers in the Tulsa Metro area. We hope this gift is another way of saying thank you from the families of QuikTrip."
The George Kaiser Family Foundation has committed about $200 million to the project, which they'll build and maintain.
The project is currently in its planning stages. Ground breaking is expected to start next spring.
