Tulsa Police have identified a man who was shot and killed in a case that sparked an Amber Alert Tuesday night.

Police say the victim was Lemont Watson, 36.

According to police, the incident began when Marquis Morris, 31, shot Watson at an apartment in the 200 block of West Fairview at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say Morris took an 11-year-old girl from the apartment and left. Tulsa Police issued an Amber Alert, but it was canceled a short time later after the girl called police from a QuikTrip at 61st and Memorial. She told officers Morris had dropped her off.

Tulsa Police said the girl, her mother and Watson all lived in the apartment and Morris is the ex-boyfriend of the mother.

Authorities located Morris in Muskogee Tuesday night when someone who had seen the Amber Alert called police after seeing him leave a home and get into a black Chevrolet Trial Blazer. Officers stopped the SUV and arrested Morris, then brought him back to Tulsa early Wednesday.

Morris is being held without bond on a complaint of first-degree murder.
