I am seeing long range weather data going through the month of February that shows a troubling consistency to what we have been seeing over the last month. The drought conditions that have been spreading back over the state will more than likely continue over the next month.
The drought is locked in across western and southwest Oklahoma. With the recent dry spell over the last month or so, the dry conditions have spread eastward toward the OKC metro. The prediction for February calls for the drought to dry conditions to remain in place and may worsen. The only area that may see some decent precipitation will be the southeast parts.
Temperatures will continue around normal in the central and north, while southwest Oklahoma will be above normal.
With these type conditions continuing, fire danger will be a major headliner for February.
