A Tulsa woman was arrested after a 15-year-old boy came to school with what police call "horrific" injuries. Shanetta Williams was booked on three felony child abuse complaints and is being held on a $300,000 bond.
The teen's injuries were discovered when other students saw blood seeping through his clothes and were alarmed, the arresting officer said. The students notified school personnel who talked to the boy.
He told them he had been struck multiple times with an extension cord.
On Monday, the teen was taken to a forensic pediatrician who "observed and documented multiple linear and looped pattern injuries," the arresting officer said.
"The doctor stated that this was a case of severe chronic abuse with the ages of the injuries indicating at least three instances of child abuse."
Police say the most recent beating left open flesh wounds on the boy's back and hip.
Williams, 39, has a previous felony conviction for assault, according to the arrest report.
