The Edmond soldier now serving time for the killing of an Iraqi civilian will be paroled in March.
Michael Behenna's mother, Vicki, says she got the news when her son called from Fort Leavenworth Wednesday.

"It's a day we have prayed for," says Vicki.
The former U-S Army 1st Lt. says he fired his gun in self defense in 2008. He was convicted by a 3-2 vote and is serving a 15 year sentence.
Since Michael's conviction, his defense has gained supporters including Governor Fallin who said today the Army acted appropriately in offering him parole.
Vicki will get to pick him up on March 14th- the day of his scheduled release.
"For the first time, I've allowed myself to thing about where we are going to take him when we pick him up," says Vicki, who will eventually ask for presidential pardon for her son.
This was Michael's first opportunity to be paroled.
