Firefighters have put out a grass fire that threatened several homes in a southeast Oklahoma City neighborhood Monday afternoon.
According to the fire department, just after 2 p.m., crews responded to a grass fire at 4707 Sunnyview Dr., which is near S.E. 44th and Sooner Road.
Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD flew over the scene of the fire. Pilot Jim Gardner said the fire threatened homes in the area, because the wind quickly pushed the fire into the neighborhood.
Fire officials said they were able to put out the fire before it could cause major damage to the homes.
News 9 Meteorologist Jed Castles said fire danger will be very high for a limited time on Monday. Generally, between 9 to 2 p.m.
