Tulsa Police say they don't have a lot to go on after a young man was shot in the leg early Saturday at Hicks Park. Police were called to the 3400 block of East Mingo at 2:40 a.m.

Sergeant Robert Rohloff said the shooting victim first told police he had been shot as someone tried to rob him.

"He quickly went to version two which was that he went to the park to meet up with his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend to fight," Rohloff said.

"He claimed he was getting the better of them at which time the ex-boyfriend went over to one of his friends and got a pistol," he said.

The ex-boyfriend reportedly fired the pistol three times, striking the teenage shooting victim once in the lower leg.

The shooter took off, and Rohloff said none of the witnesses could or would identify him by name. The shooting victim is expected to recover.
