Today, law enforcement representatives will be collecting donations for the Special Olympics Oklahoma at the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Shops in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
The 12th Annual Cops on Doughnut Shops fundraiser will run until 10 p.m. today at the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Shops in Oklahoma City, 13500 N. Pennsylvania, and Tulsa, 10128 E. 71st Street.
More than 20 Oklahoma law enforcement agencies are participating and collecting donations that will go directly to fund Special Olympics Oklahoma, and the goal this year is to raise $30,000.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is providing incentives such as free doughnuts, coffee and T-shirts for donations to Special Olympics Oklahoma.
Law enforcement personnel support Special Olympics Oklahoma through their involvement with the Law Enforcement Torch Run, the official charity of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. The Law Enforcement Torch Run mission includes fundraising and increasing public awareness of Special Olympics Oklahoma. Cops on Doughnut Shops is just one of hundreds of events where law enforcement personnel support more than 10,500 Special Olympics Oklahoma athletes.
