Oklahoma City police were on the hunt for a killer late Saturday after a Friday night shooting left one man dead and placed a northwest side an apartment complex on lock down.
Police were called around 10 p.m. Friday, according to residents who saw the dead body. Officers found a man shot to death at the entrance of the Willow Cliff Apartments near NW 50th and MacArthur Ave. in Oklahoma City. Investigators blocked the complex's only entrance and exit throughout the early-morning hours Saturday.
"It's really not a good neighborhood," resident Dannell Flewelling told News 9. "There's gang signs flown all the time, which is nothing new."
Flewelling, a single mother of three boys, said the killing did not surprise her. She told News 9 she feels like a prisoner in her own home. Homicide detectives were called to the complex late Friday. Police said a young man was found in a pool of blood. Officers had not released his name as of late Saturday.
Complex management told News 9 it did not believe the victim lived on property. For neighbors, where the victim lived makes no difference -- The killing and mystery behind it have hit way too close to home.
"I hope the cops will figure it out," resident Christina Pasini said.
