OKC Zoo Aims To Break Record With Millionth Visitor

The Oklahoma City Zoo is within thousands from reaching 1 million visitors for the 2013-2014 fiscal year, a first in zoo history.

The Oklahoma City Zoo is within thousands from reaching 1 million visitors for the 2013-2014 fiscal year, a first in zoo history.

The zoo hopes to welcome its millionth visitor before June 30, 2014. Breaking the attendance record this year would be extra special, because the zoo is celebrating its 110th birthday.

The 1 millionth visitor could be you, so head out to the before June 30. While you are there, make sure to check out these fan favorites:

  • Touch and see stingrays up close at Stingray Bay
  • Free elephant presentation at 2 p.m. daily at the Elephant Habitat
  • Feed a Giraffe
  • California Sea Lion Presentations (Regularly Scheduled)
  • Ride the Endangered Species Carousel, Safari Voyage, Centennial Choo Choo or Safari Tram
  • Enjoy the ZooZeum, botanical gardens, Children's Zoo and playgrounds

*Additional fees for rides and attractions such as Stingray Bay and giraffe feeding may apply.

The Oklahoma City Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and until 8 p.m. on Saturdays through August 30.

Regular admission is $8 for adults, and $5 for children ages 3-11 and seniors ages 65 and over. Children two and under are admitted free.
