We'd like you to know more about the members of the News On 6 team. That's why we've started this feature on NewsOn6.com as a way to share more information about the people who bring you the news every day.

Next up is meteorologist Michael Grogan. Mike covers the weather for the weekend newscasts on News On 6 and also fills in on 6 in the Morning and News On 6 at 9 p.m. on Tulsa CW.

1. What was your first job in television news?

My first job in TV was at WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, MD (about an hour west of DC & Baltimore). While the weather there wasn't usually as exciting as Oklahoma, it was a great place to begin. I rode out some major snowstorms (envision me reporting in a blizzard, looking like the abominable snowman), got to travel around western Maryland doing segments called "Grogan on the Go" (like my Twitter handle: @GroganontheGO), and occasionally tracked severe weather. I made some lifelong friends there and loved getting to explore the Appalachians and big cities all in close proximity.

2. You have 15 minutes of free time, what do you do?

I'm notorious for keeping a jam-packed schedule. I'm also an extrovert. I imagine I'd spend that 15 minutes catching up with a friend or family while overlooking the Arkansas River on my balcony. I might also be doing a crossword - I'm a word game addict!

3. What's in the console of your car?

You won't find much in my console outside of vehicle registration forms and my car manual. Next to my console, however, you'll find a book I wrote in 3rd grade entitled, Race Against the Storm. I'm still not sure why it's there, but it does entertain my passengers when they read about my early love for weather, the Amazon, and really bizarre character names.

4. What's your hidden talent?

I don't practice very often, but I can juggle. I learned to juggle with balls, but I prefer to juggling pins now. No, I haven't tried flaming torches yet.

5. What was your high school mascot?

My high school mascot is the Redskin. It's a bit controversial, but I am an extremely proud Union alumnus!

6. How would you describe Tulsa to someone who's never been here?

Tulsa is a very friendly, beautiful and eclectic city. It's where cowboy meets cosmopolitan life. I can never decide if it's fully Midwestern, Southern, or Southwestern, but I would say it takes the best of each region. The art and music scene is vibrant and the food options are nearly endless! If you come to Tulsa, my tour will involve lots and lots of incredible food. We know how to eat well here! I've traveled a lot and can tell you that nowhere else I've ever lived have people been so proud of their community. It might be because Tulsa is an underrated city. I think it's also because Tulsans are tenacious - working to make it a better and more exciting place to be than ever before.
