The Oklahoma City Police officer accused in a series of sexual assaults has lawyered up. The allegations against Officer Daniel Holtzclaw landed him in the Oklahoma County Jail with a $5 million cash bond. But he's now working to get out.

Holtzclaw is being held in a single cell at the jail because there is a significant threat to an officer put in with the general population. He may be sitting here alone, but News 9 found out his family sat down with a high-profile attorney.

Holtzclaw is accused of sexually assaulting seven women while on duty in northeast Oklahoma City. The alleged victims claim Holtzclaw fondled them or forced them to perform sex acts to avoid arrest.

In light of the allegations, Holtzclaw hired prominent defense attorney Scott Adams. Adams says his first order of business is to ask the court to reduce Holtzclaw's bond.

One of his alleged victims, who first reported the crimes to police, has already voiced her opinion on the issue.

“I think he deserves a 20-million dollar bond what he did for what he put me through you know,” said the victim, who wished to remain anonymous.

Oklahoma County District Judge Cindy Troung set the initial bond amount and she would be the one to reconsider the amount when asked by Holtzclaw's attorney. The court will assess whether Holtzclaw is a flight risk or a danger to the public. At least one of his alleged victims thinks so...

“I'm still living in fear. It doesn't matter what kind of police car it is, I still think I'm going to see him to this day.”

Oklahoma City Police have said they hope these allegations will not jeopardize their public trust. Already, they've had people coming forward making false accusations against Holtzclaw as late as last week, but he's been on leave since June.
