The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is turning to the public for help identifying the remains of a woman found in a shallow grave near Lake Thunderbird.
According to investigators, the remains of the woman were found six years ago. The medical examiner's office believes the remains belong to a white female, possibly with some Native American heritage, approximately 5' 5” tall, between the ages of 35 and 40.
The ME also said the body had showed signs that the woman had given birth to at least one child.
Investigators identified the tattoo of a sunburst on a large portion of the woman's back. Due to the rate of decomposition, investigators believe the body had been placed in the grave three to 12 months prior to its discovery.
So far, investigators have been unable to identify the woman through DNA, but forensic investigators were able to reconstruct the woman's skull to create a likeness of the victim.
If you recognize the woman or the tattoo, please call the OSBI hotline at 1 (800) 522-8017.
