Inmate Escapes From Prison In Vinita

Craig County law enforcement officers are searching for an inmate who walked away from the Northeast Oklahoma Correctional Center Sunday evening.

Craig County law enforcement officers are searching for an inmate who walked away from the Northeast Oklahoma Correctional Center Sunday evening.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections said Edward Stair, 51, was reported missing at 6:42 p.m. from the prison in Vinita.

Prison officials say Stair is a white male who is six-feet tall, weighing 150 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

DOC records show Stair was serving sentences out of Bryan County for numerous 2013 convictions including possession of meth and stealing copper wire.
