Rain turned into freezing rain and sleet across northeast Oklahoma Wednesday morning leading to crashes from Broken Arrow to Sand Springs.

The Tulsa Police Department is under Operation Slick Streets, meaning officers will not respond to non-injury crashes.

Police ask drivers involved in non-jury wrecks to exchange personal and insurance information, then fill out a form available at Tulsa-area QuikTrips or online.

Tulsa Police worked a seven vehicle crash on Highway 169 at 21st Street. Officers closed down all but one northbound lane at the crash scene. EMSA was seen taking at least one person to the hospital.

A News On 6 crew spotted a driver who stopped his pickup in the inside lane of the Broken Arrow Expressway to clean ice off his windshield. That backed up westbound traffic on the expressway near Yale. He eventually got back into the truck and drove away.

In Sand Springs, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the driver of an eastbound Mitsubishi SUV came around a curve on West 51st Street at Skyline Drive slid and then rolled over.

Troopers said the driver and a passenger were wearing seat belts and were not injured.
