We've discovered an app made specifically for your safety.
Safe Trek is a simple app that allows women, or anyone really, get help to them wherever they are. When they feel they're in an unsafe situation, they pull out their phone and put it in a mode that can quickly notify police of danger in their exact location.
"Let's say you're at the mall around closing time and the parking lot is sparse. There's a security guard, but he may not be right by you. If you're walking and feel unsafe, you take this out, look at the screen, hold it to indicate you're in standby mode. You don't let go of it until you get inside of your car," said Patrick Allmond with All About Focus.
To cancel the request for help, you have 10 seconds to enter a passcode. It's $2 a month and available for iPhones and Androids.
