Norman Police Investigate Fatal Accident Near State HWY 9

Norman Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident, early Sunday morning.

Just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Norman Police responded to a call of an injury accident in the area of west State Highway 9 and the northbound I-35 ramp.

Upon arrival, police discovered an accident involving a small SUV and a motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was found in the grass along the roadway with significant injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

The driver of the SUV, Kaitlyn Romo, 24, of Weslaco, TX., was also taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The name of the victim is not being released until next of kin is notified.

The incident is still under investigation by the Norman Police Department Collision Incident Reconstruction Team.
