Online poker players beware. There may be someone at your table looking at your cards, but they're not standing behind you.

It's a warning everyone needs to hear, even if they're not the one playing. What we're talking about is a new computer virus making the rounds, and it's giving cheaters an unfair advantage.

Security experts say hundreds of players have been duped into the scam on websites like "Poker Stars" and "Full Tilt Poker." After the virus is installed onto your computer, it downloads poker-related programs. It then takes screenshots of the infected players' cards and sends it to hackers. They then join online tables where their victims are playing and end up stealing their money.

The scam is concerning for professional players.

"Hopefully this is going to be rectified somehow, so that we can continue doing what we love for a living and hopefully poker will be around for a very long time," said Maria Ho, Professional Poker Player.

Despite federal and state bans, millions still find ways to gamble online, typically on websites based outside of the country.

Security experts advise you keep your anti-virus software up-to-date and remove any suspicious files.
