Severe thunderstorms will develop later Monday afternoon across the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles and move east northeast. The main threats will be large hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes.
These storms will move east and cross the state line into our viewing area between 4 and 7 p.m. Monday. Storms will still be severe and pose a threat for hail, wind, and tornadoes.
The storms will then likely form a line and move through western Oklahoma after dark. While the tornado threat will diminish somewhat once the line forms, it won't drop to zero. The line of severe storms then moves into central Oklahoma, including the Oklahoma City Metro after 11 p.m. and through 3 a.m. Tuesday. Storms will still be strong and could still be severe. The tornado threat, again, won't be zero but will be lower.
After 3 a.m. through sunrise, the line of storms will push east of I-35.
