Broken Arrow Police say a man died after a rollover crash in a stolen SUV late Wednesday.
Police identified the man as Jesse Honeycutt, 25.
Officers said the 2015 Infiniti SUV was reported stolen from a QuikTrip at 91st and Aspen at about 11:15 p.m.
An officer en route to the scene spotted the SUV driving at a high rate of speed east on New Orleans. He turned around but lost sight of the SUV. He asked drivers at a nearby intersection if they had seen the SUV and they told him it was still headed east. Police found the SUV wrecked near Lynn Lane and New Orleans.
Officers said it appears Honeycutt lost control after hitting a curb and the SUV rolled several times, throwing him out of the vehicle. They said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the SUV's owner had left the vehicle running when she went into the convenience store.
The crash remains under investigation.
According to court records, Honeycutt had a long criminal history. On November 16, 2015, he pleaded guilty to six counts in a Tulsa County case, including possession of a stolen vehicle and drug possession. The judge gave him four years in prison but suspended the sentence.
