Construction is underway at Safari Joe’s H2O, formerly known as Big Splash; and big changes are coming to the corner of 21st and Yale.

"We are tearing down the iconic Silver Bullet…for the good, for the good," Amber Woessner said.

They are making room for something new and very exciting, something called the Reptile Rush.

But, before we look ahead, let’s look back.

In May of 1984 the waterpark opened while they continued construction on the Silver Bullet which thrilled folks for more than 30 years.

The slide was 72 feet tall and the riders reached speeds of maybe 60 mph.

Now, the Silver Bullet is just days away from extinction and will be replaced by three new slides - The Reptile Rush.

"One of them's gonna be a Silver Bullet. Just like it, not called that, but just like it," Woessner explained.

One slide will have a hump in it, like a waterfall slide. And the third, a thriller - you climb into a capsule and the floor drops out from under you.

The Silver Bullet should be down by Monday, making way for the three new slides.

They're supposed to open Memorial Day weekend.
