A former Oklahoma City police officer, convicted of rape and sexual assault, has been sentenced to serve 263 years in prison consecutively.
Daniel Holtzclaw's attorney filed a request Wednesday for a new trial or evidentiary hearing. Thursday afternoon, the Judge denied the motion, saying his defense failed to meet the burden of proof.

Daniel Holtzclaw's sentencing was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Thursday. Shortly before noon, prosecutors, Holtzclaw's attorneys and Holtzclaw still were meeting privately in Judge Timothy Henderson's chambers.
The bailiff said the court was adjourned until 1:30 p.m. The reason for the delay was not immediately clear.

The hearing resumed shortly after 1:30 p.m.
