We now know the identity of a man shot and killed Thursday morning after police say he broke into his ex-girlfriend's home and assaulted her. He was armed with a gun, but detectives say so was his ex-girlfriend.

Police are not releasing many details, but News 9 has learned the man shot and killed is 21-year-old Isaiah Orange. However, News 9 is not identifying his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend, because she is the victim of domestic violence.

It was about 1 a.m. and police had just pulled up to home in the 9600 of Willow Wind Drive in Midwest City.

“When officers got there they spoke to the 18-year-old victim, who said she was inside her home in her bedroom when a former boyfriend apparently made forced entry into the home and then came to her bedroom,” Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes said.

Moments earlier the 18-year-old girl ran to her neighbor's house and called 911. She had just shot and killed her ex-boyfriend. Police say he broke through her bathroom window with a gun and attacked her.

“He was armed with a handgun and began to physically assault her,” Clabes said.

Court records show it wasn't the first time. Back in 2015 this same girl, who was a minor at the time, filed an emergency protective order against Orange. Court records show her handwritten testimony describing how Orange kidnapped her at gunpoint and threatened to kill her when she tried to break up with him.

Orange was facing kidnapping and domestic abuse charges, but the case was dropped when the girl recanted her story.

However, that wasn't Orange's first run-in with MWC Police. Records also show a 2013 chase he led police on as well as possession of drugs – a rocky past and volatile relationship that unfortunately led up to this.

“At this point our investigation is still evolving,” Clabes said. “There may be more people involved in this case at this point.”

Police say the 18-year-old is not facing any charges.
