Oklahoma City police are questioning several students at John Marshall High School after a part time coach is accused of having sex with a student.

So far, police have not arrested the assistant coach, but they confirm he has been suspended without pay from the school.

A police report dated April 4 states police were contacted by the Oklahoma City Public School district after a school resource officer received information that the part-time coach was sending inappropriate text messages to a student.

The police report states the officer found the texts to be improper, however there was no sexual content in them. But further investigation revealed another student, a 16 year old, admitted to having a sexual relationship with the 24-year-old suspect.

“This is not a teacher this is a part-time employee that these allegations were made against,” said Sgt. Ashley Peters with the Oklahoma City police Department.

The police report states the victim confirmed she and suspect had sex in his car after returning from a track meet. It also states they had sex at least two other times at the homes of two of the suspect's relatives – one at his brother’s apartment and another time at his sister’s home in Edmond.

“There have been no arrests or charges filed at this time as this is still early in the investigation.

A spokesperson with the district tells News 9 this part-time coach was just hired on March 31 of this year.

Oklahoma City Public Schools spokesperson Mark Myers released the following statement regarding the investigations:

“Administrators within the Oklahoma City Public School District were made aware of serious allegations regarding an adjunct (part time) athletic coach at John Marshall Mid-High. As a result of the accusation district staff immediately notified the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD), and OKCPS initiated an internal investigation. Swift action has been taken by the district and the adjunct employee has been suspended without pay pending investigation. The safety and security of our students is the highest priority within our district, and we ask that all questions regarding the ongoing criminal investigation be addressed with OKCPD.”
