Crews are working to get a handle on a wildfire that flared up in Deer Creek.
Firefighters were called out to the scene near Covell Rd. and N. Meridian Ave. More than 50 acres of land has burned so far. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Oklahoma City Firefighters were the first called in to assist the Deer Creek Fire Department. Eventually, Edmond, Cashion and Piedmont fire crews were also called in to assist. Authorities also had to shut down Meridian Ave. from NW 192nd St. while crews battled the blaze.
