Police are investigating a reported murder-suicide after two people were found dead in a southwest Oklahoma City parking lot.
Authorities tell News 9 the bodies, a male and a female, were found in the parking lot of a strip mall located near SW 119th St. and S. Western Ave. One person was located outside of a vehicle in the lot and another was located a few feet away on the sidewalk outside of one of the businesses.
"It appears the male shot the female and then turned the gun on himself again very tentative at this point we are still in the very early stages of the investigation," said OKC police MSgt. Gary Knight.
Police say they received several 911 calls as soon as the shooting started. Some people who work in the area tell News 9 they heard arguing and then gunfire.
"One of my girls, she called me - she was very frantic and crying, I couldn't understand anything she was saying," said Jeff Smalling who owns the Farmers Insurance Agency just feet away from the crime scene.
He said he was on his way to work when he got the call from one of his two workers who were inside their building when the shooting happened.
"The other one had started out the door and heard a lot of screaming and yelling and heard gunshots and then they ducked down inside and hid behind a desk," said Smalling.
Authorities are asking any witnesses who may have left the scene before speaking with them to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at (405) 235-7300.
Wednesday afternoon, police said they would not release the names of the man or woman until Thursday morning, that way all of the families could be notified first.
