Arkansas Man Charged With Murder In Deaths Of Mena Family

Authorities say a 37-year-old man admitted to killing two adults and two children in southwest Arkansas, according to a court affidavit. 

KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Forth Smith says Brian Bliss Travis was arraigned on four counts of capital murder on Monday, May 1st.

Travis is being held without bail in the deaths of his girlfriend, Bethany Jo Wester, 43; her two children, 2-year-old Acelynn Wester and 9-year-old Reilly Scarbrough; and her 66-year-old uncle, Steven Payne.

The affidavit says Travis confessed to killing all four when he was interviewed over the weekend.

A Polk County judge has issued a gag order that prevents attorneys on either side from commenting.
