Two people were injured after an incident at MidAmerica Industrial Park in Pryor.
Mayes County Deputy Emergency Management Director Mike Dunham said two people were taken to the hospital after an incident at Cabot Corporation.
While Dunham would not comment on the nature of the incident, he did say one worker had to be freed after being trapped for nearly two hours.
He said two were injured; one was flown to a Tulsa hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
In a statement, Cabot Corporation said, "The safety and well-being of our employees, contractors and neighbors is our first priority and our thoughts are with the two injured employees and their families. We are doing all we can to assist the injured employees and their families."
A spokesperson said a piece of equipment failed and that they are in the process of shutting down the plant to make sure everything is safe. They said they're also conducting interviews to determine how the equipment failed.
Pryor Fire, Chouteau Fire, Locust Grove Fire along with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Mayes Emergency Services Trust Authority, EMS and Tulsa Life Flight all responded to the scene.
