The Tulsa Zoo announced the hatching of four snowy owl chicks this summer. The chicks can be seen flying in the Robert J. Lafortune WildLIFE Trek Life in the Cold building, a news release states.
The owl chicks triple the Zoo's snowy owl population and are the great-grandchildren of the zoo's 1990s breeding pair. It's good news for the zoo but bad news for mice as five times the amount of those creatures are needed from the zoo's commissary, according to the release.
Vets say the chicks are three females and one male. Their parents are 6-year-old Ophelia and 18-year-old Harry.
