Fire crews responded to a residential fire in southwest Oklahoma City around 4:00 a.m. Monday morning.
Officials said smoke was visible from the eaves of the structure upon arrival near South May Avenue and Southwest 10th Street. Firefighters gained access to the home through an overhead door and began an interior attack of the fire.
A primary and secondary search revealed that nobody was inside the home. Crews brought the fire under control.
Officials said this was a vacant structure with corrugated sheet metal covering all openings to the home in what appeared to be an attempt to keep vagrants out.
There were no contents inside the structure.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
The estimated value of the structure was $5,000, and it was considered a total loss.
