Police arrest a Tulsa man they found asleep in a car, after he awoke and led them on a chase Monday night.

Officers were investigating a call about a car idling in the 6900 block of East 8th Street. They found Sebastian Cobelo, 42, asleep inside. They also noticed he had a gun. When police ordered him out of the car, Cobelo instead drove off, police say.

Cobelo crashed the car into a fence a few blocks away then ran off, according to TPD.

Police used K9 officers and the helicopter to find him hiding behind a Jeep in the 5500 block of East 9th Street.

Police say they recovered the gun, a large amount of meth and cash as well as some marijuana in his car.

They booked Sebastian Cobelo into the Tulsa County jail on complaints including possession of meth and marijuana, eluding and resisting arrest.

Jail records show Cobelo has a court appearance set for October 30th.
