Oklahoma Highway Patrol Captain Accused Of Attempted Blackmail

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol Captain is accused of attempting to blackmail the state's Department of Public Safety Commissioner.

Troy German was trying to gain a promotion or appointment to a state office. Court documents show he threatened to release evidence of OHP misconduct if Rusty Rhoades rejected his proposals.

German denies the allegation and entered a plea of not guilty.

He was released on bond and is expected to have his preliminary hearing in March.
