Wreck Shuts Down Northwest 39th Expressway Near SNU In Bethany

Bethany police have shutdown parts of Northwest 39th Expressway after a wreck near Southern Nazarene University.

The wreck happened Thursday afternoon.

Police said the vehicle was going at a high rate of speed when it rolled over from the westbound lanes to the south of the eastbound lanes near College Avenue.

The vehicle landed upside down on a fire hydrant.

A witness to the crash said the driver was unconscious after the vehicle came to rest at the corner of College and Northwest 39th Expressway.

When officers tried to help the driver out of the vehicle, the driver became combative and he was Tasered.

The driver was identified as Anthony Wallace Jr. He was taken to the Oklahoma County jail after a local hospital medically cleared him.
