For Oklahoma’s medical marijuana industry, dispensaries are in uncharted territory right now when it comes to COVID-19.
In Bethany, Great Barrier Reefer owner David Walker said he keeping the smallest amount of people inside the store at all times, wearing gloves while handling any product, and social distancing.
Walker said the most important step they are taking is similar to restaurants, which includes mostly curbside pickup, and phoning in orders.
Still though with fears of further restrictions, Walker said customers are coming in to stock up as much as they can.
“Everyone feels like they needs to come out and buy because we could be locked up for a week or two. Weed is like toilet paper right now,” said Walker.
Walker is consistently talking to other dispensaries about what they're doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
He also said his store closely follows the CDC guidelines.
